In September of this year, the number of brokerage accounts recorded through omnibus accounts increased by 80 thousand accounts. As of October 1, 2023, the total number of accounts in KCSD’s nominal keeping system has reached 2,198,000 accounts, of which 682,000 accounts are attributed to subaccounts of holders, and 1,515,000 to brokerage accounts of holders, recorded through omnibus accounts in KCSD. 

Kazakhstan investor’s profile has been prepared on the basis of data on subaccounts opened directly in KCSD’s recordkeeping system. 

Kazakhstan investor’s profile has not changed over September. The gender distribution of investors retains its previous dynamics: the share of female investors remained at 49.8%, while the share of male investors was 50.2%.

Following the trends of the past months, the largest number of investors continued to be represented by persons aged 35 to 54 years, who accounted for 37.4% of the total number of investors in August. There was a moderate increase in this age group compared to the previous month.

The second place in the structure of investors is occupied by persons aged 25 to 34 years; their share was 31.3% of the total number of investors.

The third group consisted of investors aged 18 to 24 years, their share was 17.2%. There was a slight decrease in the number of this age group compared to the previous month.

According to the territorial breakdown, Almaty (20%) and Astana (11.3%) remain the leaders. Turkestan region (9.4%) took the third place, retaining its position since March 2022. The smallest number of investors is in North Kazakhstan region, where the number of subaccounts constitutes only 1.7% of the total number of investors in Kazakhstan.
