The total number of brokerage accounts in KCSD’s nominee holding system reached 5,263,249 as of March 1, 2026, including 700,416 holders’ subaccounts and 4,562,833 brokerage accounts recorded through omnibus accounts. * 

In February 2026, the total number of accounts in KCSD’s nominee holding system increased by 96,574, or 1,9 %. The growth is attributed to the holders’ brokerage accounts recorded through omnibus accounts, which increased by 95,701 or 2.1%, while holders’ subaccounts grew slightly by 873 accounts or 0.1%.

Below is a portrait of the Kazakhstani investor, complied on the basis of data on subaccounts opened directly in KCSD’s recordkeeping system. Information about investors whose financial instruments are recorded in omnibus accounts cannot be disclosed in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

 

The gender distribution of investors continues to follow previously established trends: the share of female investors remained at 49.8%, while male investors accounted for 50.2%. This stable balance has persisted since April 2023.

The largest group of investors is traditionally represented by individuals aged by 35 to 54, accounting for 42.2% of the total number of investors.

The second-largest group consists of investors aged 25 to 34, whose share this month remained unchanged at 32.5% of all investors.

The third group includes investors aged 55 and above, accounting for 15.6%.  

In terms of geographical distribution, Almaty (22.6%) and Astana (11.05%) traditionally remain the leaders.

The Turkistan region ranked third again (9.3%), maintaining this position since March 2022.

The smallest number of investors reside in the North Kazakhstan region. Where subaccounts make up only 1.6% of the total number of investors in Kazakhstan.
